Are you sort of guestimating that the dove-tailed front sight will be high enough? I would think that what's left of those barrel markings could be hand sanded off, or were you going to bead-blast the whole gun? Interesting project so far. You will need the use of a muzzle face cutter to make sure your barrel is square. That tool is not cheap. Then there is the all important proper crown to make it a shooter. Keep us posted, as I like your choice of barrel length with that full-lug.
