Bennett, like I said earlier I have the 4006 and yes it is heavy for concealed carry but with a good belt and holster it's not bad for a few hours. I also have a Glock 23 which is light and works great as a CCW and it is pretty darn accurate. I also have a CS40, no longer made by Smith & Wesson, but this gun is a sleeper. It is very accurate, fairly heavy for a small gun but tough as nails. I have just recently bought a used Sig P229 DAK...AWESOME. Very accurate and is an easy carry but not as light as the G23. I had an XD40 and that is a very good gun, but I just had a devil of a time carrying it concealed. I'm 5'10" and 220 and I couldn't get that thing to ride without printing. I think the 4006 would be great with a shoulder holster, I will find out this winter. The little CS40 is very good if you can find one. But as far as 40's go for everyday carry th G23 is the lightest I have but I would trust the Sig P229 the best.
