When Phoenix is 118 Tucson is usually around 106 and our place, 25 miles north at 3500' is about 98. All over the country I consistently see temps higher than here, Seattle was 102 a few weeks ago and we were 96. It's called "Summer", hot just about everywhere and most places have humidity and bugs that only exacerbate the temperature. I'll take 101 with 12% humidity anytime, besides summer for all intents and purposes is just about over and it starting to get really nice...ahhhhh, you gotta love the high Sonoran desert. (o;
Laugh all you want. I was born and raised in Florida and the hotest place I have ever been is the West End Grand Canyon in NW Arizona. 114 degrees and I was sunburned within 1 hour. I'll take 95 degrees, bugs and 90% humidity any time. I was in a parking garage at midnight in Las Vegas one time when it was still 97 degrees. It felt like I was in a convection oven. Nice place to visit but I can't imagine living in that type of heat.
