This was bad enough in Norfolk:
I was in Phoenix once in August. I was shocked to see people outside playing tennis. We were insane enough to go horseback riding one day. About halfway through the ride, I thought I was going to faint and fall off the horse. I pointed to the road down below where two utility trucks were parked and I said, "Pick me up there." It was so hot I figured I was safe sitting down there in the middle of nowhere because nobody could muster the energy to attack me. I staggered down to the truck and sat in it to wait. There was a utility worker dozing in the other truck. He just looked over and went back to sleep.
