With the variations available to the average person, The Model 10 is Smith & Wesson's "gun for all seasons". My only model marked example (10-5, by the way) is shown below, although I have several M&P's from before the Model marking began. I think, as a design, the M&P / Model 10 is the ultimate example of what made S&W the preeminent manufacturer of handguns in the US of A.
