Gun writer Chuck Taylor (one of the few writers I respect) did a six or seven year test on a Glock 17. Did all sorts of horrible things to it and ran an ungodly amount of ammo thru it over the years before declareing it a reliable firearm. Chuck is a hard man to convince. It was his approval that had me try a Glock. Perhaps a web search can turn this up, worth reading. Maybe he will run a test of the M&P? I did not want to wait a few years for Chuck so I went ahead and bought two M&P's.
