Being a shooter, the bore is the heart and soul to me. No good to anyone if they can't be shot. A bad bore is like finding out your fiance was unfaithful the night before the wedding. Just puts a damper on the whole thing and nothing can be done about it to keep it original, cause you know it's been "fixed" . Also the 44-40 is a hot caliber for that model.

Hey! Keep my ex-wife outa this! My takedown 44 has a bulge in the barrel and I actually won a cowboy match with it. I don't shoot it anymore. Maybe I'll post a phone pic of it here. It's a pistol grip, round barrel, shotgun butt, with custom original sights and a cattle brand on the stock. Coolest gun on earth.
