Both are very desirable guns. They're much sought after by collectors. Its important to note they're also "C&R" so you open a slightly different market base. Exact numbers can vary.

First, anyone who describes me as an expert becomes suspect!

I'd guess the value of the M29/pre 29 at just above $2000, because I've seen them sell on the open market for that in recent months. The Pre m27 is probalby worth somewhat less, but I'd guess maybe $1500. As for finding the box for a 1954 vintage gun....good luck with that. See DanT here, he often has a supply of very nice boxes, and charges fair (not cheap, but fair) prices. If you find one cheaper, lunge at it. He'll also tell you how things are, and he won't pump sunshine up your skirt. Honesty is the best policy, and he adheres to it.
