Just in case anyone was interested, here is the LCR lock. Most folks are not in favor of locks on their S&W's so I just wanted to show Rugers design. Yes, it's a Ruger but I am a egual opportunity gun owner, so please keep the flames to a low burn.
I have to give credit to the Ruger trigger. Even after replacing the springs in my J frames, the Ruger trigger is still nicer. I also have a pic of the sorbathane insert in the grip which does help with felt recoil. Just like your athletic shoes.
The lock design appears very sturdy, and simple in design. The padlock type key just turns the cylinder and blocks the hole that the hammer strut goes through. It does not appear easy to defeat(to me) unless the inside of the lock is drilled out as the the whole unit supports the hammer strut/spring. But the way it is built it seems unlikely to fail.
The gun is very nice to shoot and very accurate.
Of course why do we need locks like this on revolvers in the first place? The semi auto LCP has no lock??
