As a retired LEO, we used to shoot the TRC & PPC with a 686 2.5 inch snubby. Those ranges were 50 & 60 yards. We shot silhouette type targets. The 686 snubby is only as accurate as the shooter himself. Practice is what makes-it. I currently carry the 686 snubby concealed. If you are not into law enforcement where somebody might shoot at you from a distance, keep in mind that about 80% of shootings are within 20 feet. Thats where you need to really concentrate for self defense type shooting. Bullseye targets are great for learning your front & rear sights at first.
