Don't have one myself. My .44 starts with an R and I got it 20 years ago. But my buddy just got a 629-1 with an 8 3/8ths barrel. Had less than 100 rnds thru it. He got it for about 1/2 the price of a new one. Me, I like new guns, but it's hard to beat a like new for 1/2 the price.
But it also depends on why there are new models (-2,-3,...,-5, etc.) If it was for a reason not just cosmetic, you've got to evaluate that too.
