I have a 1006 which I ordered and bought new when such things were possible. I don’t know about giving up my left arm first, but it is the gun which they will have to pry from my cold dead fingers.
Seriously, I have a 1076 which is a better CCL gun and perhaps a bit better balanced in my hands, but the 1006 with the adjustable sights and added heft is exactly what I would reach for if serious work was at hand.
It has always functioned well, came from S&W tight and with a good trigger. Load it with high energy Double Tap, and you will be ready.
