Need help identifying my S&W .38 special CTG
Hi...I'm a brand new gun novice looking to buy a .38 special for home protection and some target shooting. I jumped in today and bought a used S&W .38 special CTG. The gunshop owner told me it was a police issued revolver but couldn't tell me much more. It's stainless steel with a 3.5 in barrel, 6 rd. and feels very solid. I paid 325.00 for the gun, and the gunshop owner is going to take me to his gun club shooting range to teach me how to shoot it. I'm wondering if anyone could tell me anything more about the gun then the gunshop owner did and if I paid a good price. I realize this is all after the fact, but it would be nice to know anyway. I've included some pictures and the serial number is 1D932xx. Any help would be much appreciated.
