The P-38-LO was the last production made P-38 varient many improvements where made by then to correct past problem's. It could climb to altitude twice as fast as the Mustang, had a higher top speed and was dang manuverable. All fighter's had thier strong suit's and weakness's, a good pilot would use thier ships to thier advantage whilst exploiting thier oppenent's weakness's. A P-51-D Mustang versus a P-38-LO would likely be won by the best pilot! Then some hotshot in a Thunderbolt would show up and upset the applecart.
