Thanks snowdog....there seems to be a lot of Moulties around here heavily discounted. Hermann's Bushnell sounds interesting...it is things like the glow from the IR emitter that I need to be aware of.

Seems like the literature for a lot of electronics seem to skip over important details like noise, battery life etc.
We bought a weather forecasting clock for Christmas ...the literature left out the fact that the forecasts were only for the major cities....closest major city for us is 60 miles away...the clock went back.
