I can answer the question about whether they run cleaner (I roll my own, so I have no idea whether any such factory ammo exists - I doubt it). I have loaded WC ammo to target and defensive velocities with soft swaged, hardcast, and plated swaged bullets (these last by both Berry's and Rainier). I find that they all shoot clean at target velocities. I find that the hardcast and plated swaged bullets shoot cleaner at defensive velocities, but that the plated bullets are not any cleaner than the hardcast. I've not shot plated swaged bullets up at the velocities where hardcasts begin to lead.
