RedBerens, thanks for the info. I have been to Glock armorer school and the striker assembly removal on the S&W is somewhat similar to the Glock's. I imagine that is the most crucial area to be detail stripped and cleaned. I doubt I'll attempt removal of the locking block & trigger bar until I go to school, or at least become more familiar with disassembly of the M&P.

jr19703, I believe they make a type of Gunscrubber that is polymer safe. In any case, I've seen the original stuff used on polymer guns sparingly with no ill effects. I'm not advocating it, just saying I've seen it done.

I am becoming really fond of the M&P series and plan on looking into attending an armorer's school even though I'll have to do it on my own time and own dime since my agency doesn't authorize them as duty guns.
