I got on the Hodgen site and they suggest working up a load for the 38 S&W,
Figure out where the bottom of the bullet is, fill with powder to that point, that is the max load and as long as it is not compressed it is safe to shoot, subtract 30% that is the starting load and work from there.
They said it is hard to over stoke it.
