Isn't Gold Dot a jacketed bullet, though? Would that affect the desired amount of powder?

A Gold Dot is more like a plated bullet than a jacketed one, at least from the few I have reloaded. I used them in the 500S&W Mag a time or two.

You are right about dropping the charge with lead BUT with the Gold Dot data, if you start out with the suggested minimum load, you should be fine.

That's just my opinion though. To be safe, call Hodgdon. They will tell you that H110 wont work with lead bullets, although it has for many, many years.
