My experience is with the .44 Magnum versions, not with .45 caliber versions of either variation, but at least to me the difference is very slight. I find it hard to notice even in a direct A/B comparison with both on the bench. In the field, I'm not sure I'd ever really notice. In theory the extra muzzle weight would reduce muzzle flip and perceived recoil, at the expense of carrying the extra weight around all day. In practice, it's something like 3 ounces and I haven't really noticed a preference.
