My farm is just a few miles from the AT, cross country that is. Anyway, one night I hear the most god-awful noise in the woods. I arm myself and track it down. A couple of AT thru hikers had gotten lost and decided to camp in the valley. They had a bottle of 'shine they'd bought from a local and were proceeding to sample some of TN's finest. I don't reckon that anybody had told them that it's about 140 proof. So these guys are snot blowing drunk and howling at the moon. They didn't look so good in the morning either.
