Top below is my first, 8/02, S&W a new 625-7 MG my wife shocked me with while we were on vacation Labor Day week. Below it is a LN 625-6, 1996 vintage, I traded for four years ago. It's my shooter these days, saving my sentimental-valued first S&W. Both are .45 Colt - - all-time favorite revolver round.
The top one sports an Ahrends square conversion, with f.g., of cocobolo. The bottom sports the S&W Combats in Dymondwood. An S&W blister-packed $25 closeout goodie from the local dealer 9/02. I haven't seen any other non-rubber grips there since!
