Got it back. They ended up replacing the barrel since I had clumsily dropped my 442 awhile back and one of the scars it suffered was on the barrel's crown. I hadn't noticed any affect on accuracy and asked if they could just smooth up the rough edge created by the fall. I didn't even care if they refinished it, but they ended up replacing it. Oh well, that'll work!

Those with a sharp eye might notice something different from the other barrel.
442s in the past had the front sight profile in the above pic, but newer no lock ones seem to be coming with ones like in my first post's pic. That hook shape at the top is the style on 642s. Those barrels/front sights on new no lock 442s were marked with an S on the underside of the barrel and were stainless with a black finish applied. When they replaced my barrel it is the older style and carbon steel.
