What I have done is to screw the screw in as far as possible without the spring/plunger in it. Then insert the spring/plunger and hold down while making enough of a turn to get it inside the sight body. I've changed K frame and X frame both and the only problem I ran into was the little spring & plunger flying off to parts unknown when removing. I put it in a large plastic bag now to keep control of.
