I have, and still sometimes do carry .45 ACP pistols, all 1911 designs of one kind or another. Until I caught the 9x23 bug, I almost always carried a .45 as my primary. Just yesterday bought an XDm .45, and if I can find a holster with enough tilt to conceal the long butt, I'll carry it some.
If I were going to go to a Glock .45, it would not be a 36. People seem to love them or hate them; I fit the latter group. Unpleasant recoil, thick slide, low capacity. What's not to hate?
