+1 on above, S&W doesn't make many new .22 LR revolvers, with the 617's and the "Classic" 17's combined. Demand for .22 handguns is at an all time high due to the economy and the price of ammo, and the options are very few for good quality .22 LR DA revolvers......actually the options are only S&W.

I also bent over and let Gander Mt. give it to me when I bought my 6" 617.......after all the BS fees I was in just over $800 on my 617......where I live S&W .22's are unobtanium so I "bit the bullet" because I wanted, no NEEDED a S&W .22 LR revolver! Luckily it turned out to be a good one, I haven't even had it 3 weeks yet and it's already got a couple thousand rounds on it.
