Oh yeah, I quickly forgot the gouging I had to take on the 617, sure I could have waited, maybe ordered one and waited months for it to come in while S&W makes another "batch" of them, or spent months looking for a lower price........but instead of looking and trying to save $100 I have been able to spend the last half of the summer shooting it!

I look at it this way, if I had fired a .38 Special out of one of my revolvers, instead of every .22 LR I fired this summer out of my 617 I would have spent hundreds of $'s on ammo and had to drive to the range, instead of stepping out into my backyard and shooting all day for $5.
