I'll try to answer your questions about what the box codes would be for your M586.
Your gun should be a 586 no-dash shipped in 1984. If it had the firing pin bushing replacement modification, there would be a "M" stamped near the model number.
The codes should be the same as on the box you have --
except:
- I don't know about that "483" number.
- Features" would probably have been "RR" (Red Ramp)
- "Product Code" should have been 103506
- "Spec. Ord." would have been a 4 number code. The first number would have been a 4, which is the year packaged/shipped (1984). The next three numbers would have been a number between 001 and 365, and represents the ordinal date of packaging/shipping in 1984. For instance, 001= January 1; 365= December 31.
As far as the white outline rear sight blade, S&W made them both ways. Your plain black sight blade is likely original to the gun.
