The 586 in the picture you posted is a Performance Center 586 L-Comp, 7 shot, 3" compensated barrel. Not too many around and usually expensive, especially new theough you can find some decent deals on used ones from time to time (Bud's has one right now -
used S&W 586 L Comp Performance Center $859.00 SHIPS FREE). I bought mine from another forum member last year and have been very pleased with it. Great shooting gun, well balanced, very smooth, and incredibly accurate.
