Well I sent my SD40 back to S&W to have the frame problem repaired or replaced and the gritty trigger repaired. Today I received the pistol back after 2 1/2 weeks. They fixed the trigger (very nice now) but did nothing to the frame. No explanation at all. I called S&W and they said it was within specs. I suspect they have a few thousand out there with bad frames that are "within specs" and can't afford to replace them all. This is very sad because Academy Sports no return policy leaves me stuck with a defective product with no recourse. I would just say, if you're planning on buying an SD pistol, check it out carefully because the S&W lifetime policy is worthless.
