The grips on the gun look like Morini grips for use in International centerfire.
Grips for NRA bullseye would allow you to cock the hammer while shooting one handed. Your thumb would not reach over the grips overhang to cock the hammer in rapid fire.
In International centerfire (dueling) you have 7 seconds to lower the revolver, and cock the hammer back with the non-shooting hand and get back into position for the next shot. Then the target faces for 3 seconds and you raise the pistol and fire before it turns away. 2 strings of 5 shots, and then you score.....much fun!
Use a load suitable for a model 52 and you will be amazed.
