Well said. Good, reputable, high-quality firearms, if not abused, will rarely lose any value, and generally (over time) will appreciate at least a little bit. Most of the "investment" in guns is to facilitate the sport (and love) of shooting and owning fine firearms; it's not a financial strategy. True "investment grade" guns are VERY expensive, fairly rare, have a limited number of people who are willing and able to purchase them or tie up their money with them, and are only useful for looking and storing- not shooting!
