I have a 9 pro and I had a simuliar experience with it when it was brand new. The problem was with either the magazines or the slide's spring being to stiff (not the ammo, I later used the same ammo w/o a FTE).

I had this type of thing happen before with new guns and the 'fix' for mine was to load the magazines to the max and lock the slide to the rear.... I then let them sit that way for almost a month (I was to busy to shoot them at the time anyway.) 2 weeks is the normal cure time.

I later took the 9 Pro to the range and it function flawlessly.

A few months after that, I shot this same handgun at "Front Sight" training school in a 4 day defensive handgun class and shot what they call 'Distingushed Expert' with it. Not one FTE or FTE.

Great gun and I really like the grip/sight on the 9 Pro.

I hope this helps.
