I have carried both off duty and as BUG on duty.
I prefer the "J" Frame.
I recently installed Pachmayr "Decelerator" grips on my Model 638 which improved my accuracy vastly. Also these grips gives more grip when drawing and added no more "Bunk" for CCW.
