I recently sent in a 29-5 to have the cylinder reblued due to bluing wear caused by powder blowback from the holes drilled in the bottom of the top strap for scope mounting. The note with the shipping lable said average return time was 2 to 3 weeks. Long story short...it took 6 weeks. Communication from S&W was poor...no response to emails. You have to call them.
