I had a 1917 do that and it was the screw in front of trigger guard when I took side plate off and cleaned it there was some crud in that cylinder stop thingy that the 4th screw holds in I also had a old S&W 38 M&P do that cause I unscrewed the mainspring screw too much .. hope this helps cause ,you guys on here have sure educated me a bunch of times..thanks
