I purchased an original 9MM Sigma (Where's Waldo?) in the early 1990s. I had ZERO problems with through 1000s of rounds. The Tennessee Highway Patrol carried the original .40 Sigma for many years without any reported problems.

I then purchased one of the very first .40 Sigma 'value models' when they first hit my dealer's shelves. Again, ZERO problems with it.

The ONLY thing I recall EVER being told NOT to do, with regards to ANY Sigma, was to 'dunk it' when cleaning it, as the trigger return spring contained a 'felt plug' (to absorb recoil harmonics during firing, IIRC) and the loss of this plug will lead to spring faiure.
