Where I live it gets hot, real hot, dadgum shootin' hot.

The prefered attire for many retired LEOs and Off Duty LEOs in Texas is shorts, T-Shirt, sandals or tennis shoes, and a ball cap in the dead of summer. Some what difficult to hide a medium to larger hog leg on an average LEO frame. So, many go with buttpacs.

On my last trip to the Texas LE Olympics (taco/TexMex Food eating contest was my speciality) in San Antonio it look like a buttpac convention had come to the down town area.
Average afternoon temp that week was 104 degrees with some really high humidity.
