I've been using an Uncle Mike's Belt Pack. However, though it's designed to carry handguns I normally use it for my cell phone, car keys, pens, etc. This frees up my pockets for pocket carrying a J-frame.

I like it because it's not bulky or goofy looking like a fanny pack, and wouldn't look out of place with a shirt and tie. I also have a similar, and smaller one, made of leather by Roma which is even better if you need to look a little "dressed up" instead of casual.

Certainly it's not the "perfect" carry method, but it's another option that we have available.
