Regarding the "roughout" issue...As far as I know, their website allowed me to specify "smooth-out", and I did.
I wonder if things have changed since you got yours? (the website did explain, in the FAQ section, about rough vs smooth out, and I made sure to specify smooth out.
I will report back to you, as to whether or not mine has smooth or rough out against the body.
Either way, sounds like a great holster choice for a heavy revolver!
