Maybe these terms are regional and I'm late hearing them.

I've been instructing all disiplines of firearms for almost 30 years and this term has not been used except to describe full autos until recently.
I now see people posting things like, "Is anyone running a certain site on their gun?" Or, does your gun "run with oil or dry"

And now all my firearms are machines and they "run". Interesting.

If the weather is nice tomorrow, I may "run" my deer rifles and check the zeros. Do we still say zeros?

Actually, I think this is more generational than regional.
