I'd love to have the option of carrying a high cap or L frame but.... it's not going to work.

Welcome to the forum. This is an unusually contentious thread...
Front pocket carry in jeans limits your options. Personally, I prefer belt holsters of some sort, but I have been known to carry an LCR in the front pocket of cargo type pants. Depending on the cut of your shirt, back pocket carry may be an option. Personally, I haven't tried it (no need) but some seem to like it.
