Wow! What a ponderous question. I like them both! I do prefer a decent Smith revolver (Model 19/28), but must confess that a decent DA/SA or 1911 trips my trigger just fine.

I think it prudent to carry whatever one feels most comfortable with. For me it's the revolver, the Beretta M92 in DAO or the 1911. Oh, I forgot to mention the Model 4566.

Bottom Line: Train with ALL of them and adopt a couple that you truly feel comfortable with to trust your hide to.
