I've told this story here before, but several years ago I bought a 5 screw pre 18 S/N in the 198,xxx range, for around $275 (IIRC), when I got home I had just walked in the door when the dealer was calling wanting to buy it back from me.
It lives in my safe now and keeps the 4 screw pre 17 company.
BTW - did not mean to be rude, that is a really fine example of a Combat Masterpiece, you will quickly come to love the way it carries and shoots, one of the most comfortable and accurate revolvers you'll find. Enjoy it!
