Seems to be a general consensus that the 40c is a bit better overall than the Glock 27. Having both, I agree. The 40c just feels better in the hand and I think being more comfortable--namely ergonomically superior and recoil being about equal, the 40c is the better shooter by a small margin to me.

If you're shooting one handed, the margin is bigger-the 40c pulls ahead more. The 27, being a tad bit smaller, is better for C&C--it just tucks away neater. But then, I sometimes have a laser tactical light on the 40c, something I can't put on the Glock 27.

Shooting 40 and then going to 9mm is also pretty well known as a way to improve your accuracy with the 9--a few magazines shooting 40 and 9mm seems more controllable--my groups are smaller going that way than if I just start out shooting 9mm.
