Both the M&P and SR were on my need list. The M&P is no longer on my need list. Got my hands on one at a gunshow and wasn't impressed enough with it, especially for the price. My thoughts on that plastic thumb safety weren't pleasant, it's big, and it flexes.

Had the gun been made by Smith, no doubt I'd have a different opinion.

I do have two of the Sig Sauer 1911-22, one FDE and one OD. They are absolute fun to shoot. The only thing I've noticed that you have to watch out for is over loading the magazine. They are advertised as 10 round, but will hold 11. If I load 11, I always had and issue with the next round chambering. Only loading 10, never and issue. This is with Federal bulk 550 and CCI Blazers.

The SR22 is still on my need list, and from what I've read, it'll stay there until I buy one.

I'd also feel different about the M&P even though not made in house, if it were a hundred bucks cheaper.
