not electronic, but you might try the "Allen Sound Sensor".
especially good for light duty work.
I use one at work in a machine shop and the whines and screeches
of high speed machining(and the boss) are greatly reduced.
I can even hear the radio better with them on.
very lightweight, no problem to wear them for long periods,
and inexpensive, about $18 on Amazon.
Ive never got to try them for shooting tho.
