For the most part they wont do anything as they dont want to go back to jail. However not always. Before we met my wife was working at a small truck weigh station/cafe by herself. She was held up and the guy faked a gun. It really scared her as she was a divoricee with three kids to raise. He had her lay on the floor face down and told her he was going to put a bullet in her head if she looked up! He was soon caught.
