It would be VERY helpful to know what pistol you are referring to. Assuming it's either an M&P or Sigma I would expect that what you are contemplating will result in problems with misfires. With a double action striker fired pistol much of the trigger stroke is spent "cocking" the striker. Shorten the length of that stroke so it releases earlier will only result in the spring NOT being fully compressed with the end result of the primer not being struck hard enough to ignite the primer.
