I have not shot a Gov, but I have shot, using the loosest definition of the term, the Gov's equivalent, a Judge. MG all the way! The Judge wasn't unpleasant to shoot, but the MG is actually pleasant to shoot. A push instead of a punch for recoil. Another reason I chose the 45 MG is because I like the combination of looks and comfort. I can throw some heavier loads from my Colt with wood grips that would leave my hands stinging with the unnecessary kick of the Mag. The .44 Mag is a great round, but the Mountain Gun isn't the platform where it shines. Downloading to .44 Specials is great, but with how expensive they are, you could buy 45 Colt, or if you want to go a little lower with recoil, you can buy the 45 Special, er, I mean the 45 Schofield. Cowboy rounds are a hoot to shoot!
